What is it about?

Here we present an in-depth analysis to SIM algorithms, together with OpenSIM -- an open source software for SIM reconstruction.

Why is it important?

Although SIM heavily relies on post-processing, and the development of other super-resolution techniques such as PALM/STORM/SOFI are largely based on open source initiatives, there has been no open-source SIM code available so far. Our work bridges such gap.

Perspectives

This work will help the community to get deeper, hands on experience on SIM processes. As the code is written with Matlab, the readers can run and stop the code at anywhere he/she wishes, thereby the concepts like frequency domain shift can be seen intuitively. WIth a deeper understanding of SIM process, the readers/users can choose proper parameters for SIM post-processing.
