This article is about discrete linear-quadratic regulator designed for precise speed control of small power (ca. 600W) PMSM. Different non-classical (without cascade control) control structure was discussed. Simulation as well as experimental results are presented.

Why is it important?

Simple linearization and decoupling processes of a motor model were presented in detail. State feedback control algorithm was augmented by internal input model in order to eliminate steady-state speed error.
