What is it about?
ScoRD addresses errors in GPU programs caused by improper synchronization among threads. It introduces a hardware tool to detect "scoped races," a new type of bug caused by inadequate synchronization within specific thread groups, ensuring program correctness with minimal performance impact.

Why is it important?
ScoRD is the first paper to address "scoped" races, which were caused by scoped synchronization which allows GPU programmers to specify a subgroup of threads to synchonize, instead of across all threads.
