What is it about?
In many traffic surveillance related applications, vehicle detection is important field For the measurement of traffic parameters like vehicle count and speed etc. An organization known as Intelligent Transportation System is funding a huge amount on this research field. Vehicle features and textures provide enough information in order to determine the object has vehicle.

Why is it important?
In the article, to make our proposed algorithm reliable and accurate we followed two rules. Specifically, the frame work includes two components they are vehicle detection and tracking. In vehicle detection only the colors of the vehicle are extracted in determining and thereby making it less complex. In vehicle tracking, Kalman filter with data association combination is carried out to take the best advantage of tracking.
Perspectives
The algorithm has been checked with different resolution of the videos and the results are very good with respect to the detection of vehicles, tracking and time taken to detect the vehicles. The vehicles that are in the sight of the camera are detected flawlessly. The work is not confined to the static camera but also to the moving camera.
