What is it about?

Vehicle detection in traffic scenes exploits robust models for tracking vehicles which require high level computer vision applications. Collection of traffic data is an essential issue for road traffic control departments, which need real time information for traffic parameter estimation. Analysis of movement occurring in an environment or video is supposed to say motion analysis

Why is it important?

The logical idea of subtraction of the images remains same in the video. Subtraction of two consecutive frames or a frame with another reference frame. This kind of subtraction is subjected to a problem. Hence an improvised background subtraction is considered. The algorithm defines the problems of occlusions and the shadow of the object.

Perspectives

As per the article the algorithm works good for static video camera surveillance. The algorithm has been checked with different kind of videos and the results are very good with respect to the detection of vehicles and time taken to detect the vehicles.
