Why is it important?

Higher education students acquire skills both from educational institutions and work experiences. The recognition of the skills they acquire along the road is essential for the students to gain legitimacy and access to more complex activities where they can learn new skills. Distributed ledgers embedding interoperability with heterogeneous applications enable new ways to recognize skill acquisition by students.

Perspectives

In this article, an integrative framework is proposed in orto fade boundaries, as suggested by de Beck [1], between students, educational institutions, blockchain certification emitters, HR software and potential employers. Key performance indicators will be proposed in order to assess the added value such an organization would bring.
