What is it about?
n evaluating public administration education in Macao, this paper applies the case study method to the example of Macao Polytechnic Institute and the computer context analysis method to the textual information of the Official Bulletin of the Macao SAR Government. This paper maintains that Macao Polytechnic Institute is the main body of public administration training in Macao, providing both degree programs for students and non-degree programs for public servants. Furthermore, this paper recommends setting up in the future a flexible training center for public servants, open training programs within the Greater Bay Area, and strengthening cultural education for overseas Chinese.

Why is it important?
ne of the most important fields within public administration is education. After Macao's retrocession to the Chinese motherland, the Macao SAR government has carried out a series of public administration reforms and achieved good results in which Macao's public administration education has played a significant role. Macao's modern public administration education can be traced back to the Faculty of Social Sciences in the University of East Asia (Macao) which was established in 1981, totaling more than 30 years of history. Since individual talent is the main body of social operation, Macao's prosperity and development depends on the guarantee of strong governance talent. The Policy Report of Fiscal Year 2021 repeatedly referred to strengthening the training of civil servants to cultivate outstanding talents. What is more, because of recent developments such as the COVID-19 pandemic, civil servants worldwide have experienced a transformation in public affairs, which has greatly enhanced the need for the strengthening of public administration training programs in both the short and long-term.
Perspectives
In summary, the public administration education of the Macao Polytechnic Institute has made great contributions to Macao's public administration. In the recent past and at present, the Macao Polytechnic Institute has provided both degree programs for students and non-degree programs for public servants. To improve public administration education in Macao, this article recommends setting a more flexible training center and opening joint training programs with institutions in Great Bay Area. Looking into the future, it is invaluable to explore the potential advantages of Macao Polytechnic Institute to train public administration talents, so as to further contribute to Macao's base for exchange and cooperation in which Chinese culture is the mainstream and where diverse cultures coexist.
