What is it about?
In this paper, a planar substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot fed circular cross-section dielectric rod antenna for broadside radiation is proposed. The antenna is designed and optimized using HFSS. The antenna exhibits broad impedance bandwidth of around 40 % (12.3-18.3 GHz). The peak gain in the operating band for 1λ0 long rod is 10.5 GHz.
