What is it about?
App Inventor is visual development software for the Android platform. It lets developer to use visual language to develop applications for Android phones using a web browser and either a connected phone or emulator.

Why is it important?
Most users consider the applications they use on their computers or phones as beyond their control - they are more fixed with being consumers than producers, or even “customizers”, of their software. The App Inventor visual language makes developing Android apps considerably easier than with a traditional programming language.
