What is it about?
This paper presents a comparison study of proposed by the authors LiFi prototype with other similar LiFi prototypes. There are presented results about the influence of different environment factors on successful communication, such as sunlight illuminance, glass border and saline water. A comparative analysis between authors’ prototype and other devices is made. Criteria for this analysis are proposed. The obtained experimental results show that the proposed prototype is better than other studied devices.

Why is it important?
The prototypes have different design and type of implementation, but all of them work according standard 802.15.7 and the communication is occurred in the same way. According to the above mentioned description, all prototypes try to achieve the same goals: • Low prices of LiFi decisions • High data rate (up to Gbps) • Full-duplex communication • Multiuser communication • Higher distance of communication • Low latency • More security • Better integration between functions "lighting" and "linking" • Enhanced reliability enabling interference free communications
Perspectives
In this paper is proposed a prototype for LiFi data communication. The investigation of the proposed prototype focuses on the impact of some environment factors (as sunlight illuminance, glass border and saline water). As the experiments with the prototype has been made, its limitations for maximum transmit distance, under different environment conditions, are determined. The key performance indicators are chosen for the estimation and comparison of the prototype, subject of the above mentioned experiments, and other LiFi prototypes. Based on them, the comparison is made. The estimation is made with two complex criteria—average arithmetic and average geometric estimation. Regarding to the results of the evaluation, it can be concluded that the above mentioned prototype is the best option for the purposes of the present study.
