What is it about?
A dependent person's transition from hospital to home is a time of stress and anxiety, which can hinder their autonomy. Factors such as the person's involvement in the care, the decision-making process, education, resources, and previous behaviors influence the person's empowerment. Knowing the factors that interfere with empowering people with dependency on self-care allows us to improve the quality of nursing care. Promoting the autonomy of dependent people in self-care improves their quality of life and directly impacts health services.
