What is it about?

Several intergovernmental organizations including the United Nations and World Bank have claimed that the involvement of women in public procurement has a direct impact on sustainable development & growth especially in the developing world, yet empirically little is known of such a claim. In this study, we empirically examine how public procurement can contribute to women empowerment by boosting the competitiveness of women-owned businesses (WOBs) in Uganda.
