What is it about?

This study is a response to the pandemic-driven rise of digital nomadism and its increasing importance for the travel industry. While digital nomad research has focused on the characteristics, categorization and motivations of the digital nomad market on the demand side, digital nomad-friendly destinations have been examined on the supply side. In these destinations, this study focuses on NomadEase, which bundles accommodation and co-working spaces together and supports digital nomads online, starting from pre-experience. In this context, the views of digital nomads about the Remote Year business, one of the best practices, were consulted and semi-structured interviews were analyzed inductively. The findings of the study mainly found that the services offered by Remote Year provide physical, social and psychological support to digital nomads and are therefore preferred by them. However, it was found that digital nomads focused more on physical support and less on social and psychological support in both comments and interviews.
