What is it about?
This study shows that travelling and living abroad transform students more deeply than classroom learning. Comparing short-term academic tourists with long-term students, it finds that frequent, reflective travel fosters powerful personal growth, while longer stays promote deeper, sustained change. The results suggest that study-abroad programs should include purposeful, reflective travel experiences that help students develop empathy, adaptability, and a global outlook.
