What is it about?

This study explores the key topics in scientific discussions about artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques. By analyzing 52 peer-reviewed articles published from 2017 to 2024, it identifies common terms like "artificial intelligence," "higher education," and "generative AI." The findings highlight a growing interest in using AI to enhance education, with tools like ChatGPT and Large Language Models (LLM) offering potential for personalized learning and better teaching methods. This study provides valuable insights into current trends, practical applications, and future research opportunities for AI in higher education, while also noting that the focus on higher education may limit the applicability of the results to other educational contexts. Future research should expand the scope to include different academic settings and long-term studies.
