What is it about?

This paper summarises the various laws and government policies in place which are relevant to advocacy for and with autistic adults. It shows which laws people and organisations have to comply with and what is suggested in policy as good practice but is harder to enforce.

Perspectives

There's an abundance of suggestions in government policies that autistic adults need good advocacy however little of this is backed up in law. We need more research looking at whether and how advocacy is implemented in practice.
