What is it about?
People with intellectual disabilities often have complex health needs. When people with intellectual disabilities go into hospital, they are at a higher risk of poorer health outcomes. This service feature highlights that it is a collective responsibility for all nurses to lead, advocate and support people with intellectual disabilities when they access acute hospital care.
