What is it about?

This research covers three cities in the ASEAN countries, and the findings cannot be generalized to others. Moreover, this research looks at the supply-side dimensionor government organization side only. However, the findings confirm that findings of previous research studies that social media use in the local government is only for information dissemination

Why is it important?

With the advent of social media and its growing impact on how people do things and how they interact, it is interesting to find if the same has made inroads into local governance. The challenge is to find the pattern and the level of use of social media in local governance and if social media has made it easier for local government functionaries to communicate in terms of information gathering for decision-making, as well as in disseminating information to the public and in receiving feedbacks

Perspectives

I hope this publication will encourage to other scientist in this fields to look at other countries practices in using social media for government
