What is it about?

The digital infrastructure of public sector organizations is under heavy duress in the process of digital transformation. New requirements on the digital infrastructure means that the organization needs to devote significant resources to assuring that the infrastructure evolves in a purposive manner. Here, the digital infrastructure needs to support both innovation and flexibility as well as efficiency and robustness. In this study, we identify how the digital infrastructure in municipalities constrains both innovation and efficiency, and how managers may work to make sure that the digital infrastructure is optimized over time.
