What is it about?
Urban agriculture/farming is gaining recognition as a significant contributor to urban sustainability and resilience. Meanwhile, ‘informal’ household-practiced urban agriculture activities are taking place within the semi-public, semi-private, and private urban spaces in most Emirati neighbourhoods. The research revealed that the Emirati households managed to successfully pursue informal urban farming processes that have led to significant environmental, economic, and social outcomes and they have shown enthusiasm to take part on larger scale collective community urban farming activities, especially in the deserted public and semi-public spaces in their neighbourhoods.
