Why is it important?

Walkability in GCC cities is a forgotten mode of transport because of the outright dependence on the utilization of private automobile. Beyond transportation, walking is a potential free activity that is accessible to all social groups, ages and cultures. Clearly, there are major benefits and advantages in enabling even a limited number of people to walk regularly.

Perspectives

The smart urban solutions approach is expected to provide attractive and comfortable outdoor spaces. Furthermore, it is considered of a valuable contribution to the urban life achieved through resulting in less negative impacts on nature.
