What is it about?
This study explores how research on carbon taxation has developed over the last 50 years. Using data from over 1,300 academic publications, we analyzed global trends, key contributors, influential studies, and emerging topics in the field. The results show how carbon taxes are increasingly seen as important tools for reducing emissions and supporting sustainable development. We also highlight which countries, institutions, and authors have been most active in this area, and explain how top-cited studies have influenced real-world policy. Our findings can help researchers, policymakers, and practitioners better understand the landscape of carbon tax research and identify future directions for more effective climate policy.
