Why is it important?
The thematic approach to education is found in higher education, however its' use has been limited in information literacy classes. Typically information literacy is taught using one-shot instruction techniques with little linking one topic with the next, however, by using the thematic approach topics are linked under an overlying theme that puts the skills students are learning into perspective of how it might relate in more of a real world setting.
