Process mapping for laser hot wire additive manufacturing of Ti­6Al­4V

What is it about?

We study a newer metal 3D printing machine that uses both a laser and a heater to melt a titanium alloy. The machine has many different inputs that must be set, but some settings produce bad parts. By understanding why bad parts are printed, we can map out the settings that lead to good results.
