When does informal finance help exports of emerging market firms? A contingent perspective

What is it about?

Informal finance is an important source of funding for emerging market firms, but its relationship to international strategy has not been examined. Based on analyses of firms from 135 emerging markets, we show that the usage of informal finance helps the exports of emerging market firms.
