it is a descriptive study of the pattern of sweetened beverage consumption as well as the snacking behavior of in-school adolescents. The study determined the prevalence of sweetened beverage consumption and snacking. In addition it examined the promoters of these behaviors and the sex differences.

Gender-based differences in pattern of consumption were evident, with more males being adventurous than females. The implications for prevention and control of non-communicable disease as well as the role of the zonal education office, were well discussed.
