What is it about?
Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is revolutionizing how entrepreneurship students develop business plans, enabling them to produce sophisticated work in seconds. This article integrates findings on entrepreneurial cognition to demonstrate that, while GenAI can stimulate creativity and facilitate idea generation, it currently falls short in ethical judgment and critical reasoning, which are necessary to create sustainable and actionable sources of new value. It proposes a framework for teachers to adopt GenAI to enhance—not replace—students’ entrepreneurial thinking and problem-solving skills.

This work is timely because generative AI now allows students to create business plans instantly, forcing educators to rethink how learning should happen.
