What is it about?

How employees perceive the leadership characteristics of their rating supervisor influences their willingness to participate in the performance evaluation process, even when it does not directly impact their evaluation. Their perceptions about the supervisor's leadership characteristics mattered more to their participation than did the quality of their relationship with their supervisor.
