Why is it important?

This study increases the, at present, limited knowledge base that patients value peer support input so that they may follow their hopes, dreams and aspirations during their recovery journey

Perspectives

I am honored to be able to report on the views of patients in this descriptive study (qualitative) which are so positive about peer support. Only a few of the 58 quotes used in the analysis (figure 1) were published in the article and there are many more examples of the range of activities peer support workers can involve their patient peers in. It's meant that more peer support workers are trained and are now are employed in a range of mental health services in Worcestershire UK.
