What is it about?

Many employers object to hiring individuals with a criminal history, often sharing concerns related to consumer response. However, these concerns may be overstated, as consumers were found to be no more or less likely to do business with or pay for services in a variety of contexts. When differences were found, they were decreased when an explanation of benefits about hiring individuals with a criminal history was provided.
