What is it about?
This paper examines the application of lean management principles to NZ's pip fruit industry; i.e. a sector that hasn't implemented such an productivity improvement method. It specifically focuses on the pack-houses section of the pip fruit supply chain and provides insight in to how to successfully implement lean in such an environment. This research won Best Paper at the 2014 ANZAM conference and subsequently was invited to be submitted to this journal paper.
