What is it about?
In our paper, we explore how new CEOs acquire power during their transition into their roles using game theory, a mathematical approach to strategic decision-making. We aim to understand the strategies CEOs use to establish their authority and influence within an organization. Our study combines theoretical models and real-world examples to show how different factors, such as the existing power structure and the CEO's personal characteristics, impact their ability to gain control. This research provides valuable insights for both scholars and business leaders about the complexities of leadership transitions and the importance of strategic planning in these periods.
