Why is it important?
This article highlights the fact that not all creative businesses have the same business goal and that only a portion of them have entrepreneurial "growth" goals in line with those of publicly funded business support organisations.
Perspectives
This article is important for me as a programme manager on publicly funded programmes for creative businesses. It offers a better understanding of the spectrum of goals micro businesses persue as opposed to the official state discourse on growth in the creative industries. It also challenges what makes good business support, both in terms of use of ressources and of impact.
