What is it about?

A method for predicting the expected amount of delays in projects aimed at carrying out maintenance and restoration on Subsea assets in the Norwegian Continental shelf. These activities are expensive and important. Delays could be due to the difficulty of the work, the novelty, the depth of the target assets and weather issues.

Why is it important?

Subsea IMR vessels have hire rates in excess of $150,000 per day some even top $500,000 a day. As they are time shared, the time lost on one well could have opportunity costs for others and faster intervention responses cold have Health Safety and Environmental significance

Perspectives

The idea was to learn from the data already available with the IMR contractor and then model this data for predictive purpose. The work was a fallout of my Master Thesis with University of Stavanger (supervised by Professor Tore Markeset)
