What is it about?
This study explores how major maintenance overhauls affect the safety and reliability of helicopter systems using real operational failure data. By applying models designed specifically for repairable systems, the findings show that while overhauls temporarily restore system functionality, they do not permanently reduce failure rates, highlighting the need for improved maintenance planning to enhance long-term operational safety.
