Why is it important?

LGBT students are at higher risks of dropping out of school or taking part in risky behaviors. Schools need to be a place that help address these issues. However, schools also need to be a place where LGBT students feel safe from harassment and bullying. School leaders need to be proactive by offering images and curriculum that are inclusive of LGBT students so they feel welcome and accepted.

Perspectives

I believe school leaders can do a better job of including LGBT students in authentic ways, and this paper offers simple steps of how to achieve that.
