What is it about?
In our study, we find that joint procurement of complex products can create price savings of about 7% for smaller organizations and 4% for larger organizations due to economies of scale. Larger savings can be achieved for organizations that have capacity shortages or lack specific knowledge about buying complex products. We also find that especially for joint procurement of complex products, it is important to involve end users in the purchasing process.
