What is it about?
This study explores Brazilian migration to Switzerland and Germany, areas less studied compared to Portugal and the UK. Based on a survey of 1,269 migrants, findings show more women are migrating—mainly for family or marriage—while men often arrive with work visas. Most migrants are highly educated and aged 31–40. Both genders face language and cultural challenges, though many plan to settle permanently. The research highlights different migration strategies by gender and the impact of national policies on migrant experiences. It offers new insights for understanding skilled migration, integration, and the evolving patterns of Brazilian mobility in Europe.
