What is it about?
Since the mid-1990s, trauma-informed care and practice has gained international attention, however, recent Australian studies suggest there is a lack of training and education for health and human service professionals. We explore what trauma-informed care and practice training and education have taken place in Australia using a scoping methodology. We suggest that there is a need for consensus regarding trauma-informed content to ensure fidelity to the principles of trauma-informed care and practice are promoted, and for ongoing commitment by stakeholders and funding bodies.
