What is it about?

Supporting families in which a parent experiences mental ill health is important but challenging. We explored clinician experiences of family-focused practice in an organisation that provided multiple supports for this work. In spite of these supports clinicians continued to experience challenges. To overcome these challenges they drew on both personal and organisational resources. They valued a positive team culture, preferred interactive consultative and educational resources, and emphasised the importance of partnership working to support family-focused practice.
