Why is it important?
People with dementia require care at home, in care homes and in hospitals, which has implications for the current and future workforce in health and social care.
Perspectives
Dementia training that goes beyond awareness raising includes specific knowledge and competencies. There exists the potential to link such knowledge and competencies to qualifying curricula that can offer staff the opportunity to attain a recognised qualification in dementia care.
