What is it about?

Good decisions are a need for people and organizations. Most decisions should take into account several viewpoints or multiple criteria. ELECTRE is one of the most famous multicriteria decision method and it is based in no-dominance instead of preference relationships.

Why is it important?

Through an original visual approach, this paper makes it easy to understand how the ELECTRE works. It also clarifies similarities and differences between preference and non-dominance, highlights and avoids causes for misinterpretation of ELECTRE results, including the false supposition that rank reversal occurrs while using ELECTRE for decision.

Perspectives

My perspective is that this paper will contribute to reduce wrong analysis of the results that come multicriteria methods.
