What is it about?

This study examines whether countries whose governments openly explain how they manage public communication also tend to have higher public trust and a stronger sense among citizens that they have a say in public affairs. The statistical models do not show a clear independent effect, but the broader pattern suggests that this kind of transparency tends to appear in countries with stronger governance, better-performing institutions, and more positive citizen attitudes. In other words, transparency about strategic communication seems to be more a sign of a well-functioning democracy than a simple direct cause of trust.
