What is it about?
This paper studies the relationship between environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, sustainability performance and green innovation with the aim of understanding their current research trends and predicting future directions. The researchers found that there is growing interest in these areas after analyzing 520 publications from 2014 to 2024 using bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review. The study also identified four main knowledge areas and three key research themes. In conclusion, the study supports companies that prioritize ESG practice as well as green innovation, which are important for sustainable growth. Furthermore, it stresses the significance of a strong sustainability strategy and having transparent reporting so as to foster a sustainable business environment. This review gives a holistic view of how corporate sustainability performance interacts with ESG issues and green innovation while providing helpful insights for future investigations in this domain.
