Why is it important?

Corruption effects all society and by its very nature is hard to measure, though not an accurate reflection of the extent of corruption, measuring the perception of corruption goes someway in understanding this phenomenon. The understanding of corruption varies across cultures and the more we understand this the better chance of eradicating it and therefore build a fairer society.

Perspectives

This publication draws on existing literature on the definition, effects and previous studies of the perception of corruption. By way of a small scale study across an international organisation the perception of corruption was measured throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. This was completed as part of an MSc in Forensic Accounting via Portsmouth University, UK.
