What is it about?

Contrary to the expectations, Eurozone countries process of convergence is estimated to be slower than that of the larger EU groups. This is particularly true after 2008, the beginning of the big economic crises. As a consequence, reserving a specific budget for Eurozone within the EU budget would be important to provide adjustment mechanisms after potentially large shocks.
