We propose a new start-up business model framework (SECURE) that has a positive impact on start-up performance. Start-ups in emerging economies can utilize SECURE standards to benchmarks their business models. The quantitive SECURE scale is useful for start-ups in their early stages of formation, particularly in emerging economies.
