Conceptual design of a small production plant for eco-friendly packaging

What is it about?

Designing a new production plant for innovative materials is an hard task that may lead to several and costly iterations. Focusing more attention and design resources on the fuzzy front end of the design process is then fundamental, to identify the most suitable concept solutions to be developed in the subesequent design phases. We show a tailored systematic approach that has been used for the concept design of a new production plant for wine cases made by a recently proposed compostable material composed by straw and Mater-bi.
