What is it about?

The study concluded that migrant workers in India have experienced significant fears and worries, a lack of trust in political institutions and the media, and mixed levels of adherence to preventive measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, the fear and worries index revealed that respondents were most concerned about the health of their loved ones, their mental and physical health, and the potential for economic disruption. The Trust Index revealed that respondents had the least trust in local politicians and NGOs and were most likely to trust TV news channels and newspapers. Finally, the Prevention Index showed mixed levels of adherence to prevention measures, with respondents most likely to always wear a face mask and practice physical distancing, but less likely to avoid touching their face or using sanitizer to clean their hands.
