What is it about?

AI-powered text generation through large language models is expected to have a significant impact on our work and personal lives. The impact on the document creation process is still largely unknown. This article applies some of the considerations about the central role of humans in information science to the question of how the central role of humans in documentation might be affected by the development of large language models. This article presents large language model output as artificially blended testimony – a novel data provider along reality and testimony. The methodological framework used in this study is the Model of Documentation Activity (MoDA), which has demonstrated its value in exploring the impact of technological advances such as large language models on the documentation process.
